As I mentioned before, I started stalking pups around the city, and with the okay from their parents, I started taking their photos. My first posts on Instagram were of my neighbors’ pups. They are of course all cute photos because of the models, but they lack both knowledge on technique and a defined style.
I can’t remember how the cycle of meeting pups to feature on my Instagram started, but it was the beginning of meeting so many wonderful pups and friends.
Ody's (photo above) chasing the balloon was, I believe, my first action photo and what started the fire in me to learn this new and exciting new technique of photography. Other regulars where Milo his brother, always so calm and mild-mannered, Duchess so regal and sweet, Louie (Mr. Goofiness) so full of personality and a challenge trying to get both his ears up, Apple with her calmness and big bows, and Pippet, whom, as I recall, loved being in her bag, making me so happy when I was finally able to take her photo. I can’t believe how much time we all spent walking around the park and the City just looking for the perfect backdrops to take the photos.
This were wonderful times spent with an amazing community that truly changed my life both personally and as a photographer forever…sadly, we have lost some of the original members of the clan, and now I find myself photographing the new pups of those families.
There are so many other pups that were a part of the Central Park group squad, and it makes me mad that I can’t remember all of their names…so if your pup was a part, please let me know!
